so im trying t update my intel graphics chip set driver to the latest one but the problem is that whenever i try to update it it basiclly crashes i think, the update is available through window updates as well as if i go to the driver and hit pdate to search online for it, and from the intel site. what happens is when i go to update it starts to install and the screen resolution starts to change like normal but then all of sudden the screen goes black with a little white underscore in the top left flashing as if i were in some command prompt thing, then the screen turns off and thats it the pc will still run but the screen is off, i have tried to leave it like this for 3hours to see what happens but it just stays off, then ill turn it off and when i try to reboot it it gets to were it says starting windows on windows 7 were the windows flag is glowing and then the screen will freeze but you can here the pc startup, the screen is just stuck on the windows logo. so i reboot it into safe mode and go to device manager and go to dispay adapters and there are 2 of the same driver sitting there both are the updated version that i installed but the only differnce is when i click the first one and go to the resources tab it says

Memory range 00000000D0000000 - 00000000DFFFFFFF

I/O Range 1800 - 1807

IRQ 0xFFFFFFFE (-2)

I/O Range 03B0 - 03BB

I/O Range 03C0 - 03DF

Memory Range 00000000000A0000 - 00000000000BFFFF

and then if i click on the one under it and go to resources it only says

Memory range 00000000D0000000 - 00000000DFFFFFFF

so i wind up deleting the second one thinking that its some error since it doesnt have all the info of the other and i restart the pc when it botts up this time the resolution is all **bleep**ed up and then it says driver is updated and has me restart the computer and then when i restart everything is back to normal but the driver is rolled back to the old version, anyone know hwo to fix this issue

my computer is a lenovo y550, core 2 due t6500 at 2.10ghz, 4gb ddr3 ram, 4500mhd integrated graphics
