Activating Professional Edition

Steve,

We purchased two individual licenses for IVF Professional 2015 (Parallel Studio 2015 with Fortran) and received the license keys and files (both licenses have the exactly same issue here to ask you about). After the installation is done, I put the license key to activate it in Intel Software Manager.

Here are my questions.

1. In the software manager, only a few components have been activated with the license key. It did not activate either cluster edition or composer edition. When I tried to activate the composer edition directly on the tab with the license key, it says the serial number is invalid. How do you activate the compiler? I put the license file (~.lic) received by email to the folder under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Licenses" and it still did not activate the compiler.

2. As mentioned above, we purchased "professional edition" and I don't even see "professional edition" in the list of components in Intel Software Manager. There is only cluster edition and composer edition, either of which I could not activate.....

I have attached the screen capture of the intel software manager for my case.

Can you please help with these two questions?

 Thank you.

Y. Kim

Yunbae,

I see two licenses registered to you, both of which are for the Professional Edition (formerly Visual Fortran Studio XE). Since this is a suite of products it may appear as a set of components in Intel Software Manager. I'm not really sure how it works to "activate" an evaluation copy in the manager and am moving your post over to our licensing forum where the experts in that area hang out.

Hi, Yunbae

I can only find one commercial license registered with your Forum email account. Have you registered the other one?

Have you installed Parallel Studio Cluster Edition and Composer Edition on your system with evaluation license? If so, it will show in the Intel(R) Software Manager.

Your license is for Intel® Parallel Studio XE Professional Edition for Fortran Windows* only, not including C++. The existing evaluation license on your system refers to cluster edition or composer edition for both Fortran and C++. That's why you cannot activate through it.

Could you have a try to download and install Intel® Parallel Studio XE Professional Edition for Fortran Windows* with your purchased license? Then it should be listed in the Intel(R) Software Manager.

I also send you private message about this. For license related questions, we can discuss through private messages.

Thanks.

we worked via email.

In this case it appeared an old Cluster Studio Evaluation was being found and confusing the installer.  We worked around the issue but it took quite a bit of time and investigation.
