Hi,
I am looking to use the R200 sensor connected to a battery powered processor to create a mobile device. I have noticed that Intel recommends a CherryTrail processor at least but I am finding difficulty at finding one with a USB 3.0 port. Intel mentions that the camera would work on older but not all of the features. I only want to use basic features: streaming colour/depth and calculating the projection. Has anyone had any success with a type of board that I am targetting?

Intel's latest version of their Compute Stick 'PC on a stick' has a USB 3.0 port, Windows 10 and Cherry Trail processor. It is powered from an AC adapter via a Micro-USB cable, though it may be possible to adapt one end of a cable to connect to a battery instead of the AC adapter.

Edit: you can cheaply buy pre-made Micro USB battery packs. Look on Amazon for 'micro usb battery'. This example looks particularly interesting:
