I am courious how the Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor could be booted without host platform.
Is this possible at all, if yes on the DFF card only or also the PCIe form factor?
Communication with the embedded Linux* operating system on the Intel(R) Xeon Phi(TM)
Coprocessor is provided by a standard network interface. The interface uses a virtual
network driver over the PCIe bus. Standard networking tools such as ssh are supported.
This is from the (MPSS) Getting Started Guide.
Thanks
Alex

Stand-alone MIC operation without a host platform is reserved for a future product which is still under development.
