Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to get my second display (Toshiba 30HF84 HDTV) to use wide screen resolutions as a second monitor using the S-Video. I have read some of the other posts and downloaded the DTD Calculator and used a linux modeline I found for the tv to try and fix it. I am confused though. I am not sure how to change the second monitor so it is widescreen when it is my extended desktop. Is there a way to do this? Having it make use of the 1080i or any sort of widescreen would rock.
Here is the modeline I found
Modeline "1280x720" 74.160 1280 1352 1392 1648 720 725 730 750 -hsync -vsync
which translates to a Calculated DTD of
F8 1C 00 70 51 68 0F 10 48 28 22 00 00 00 00 00 00 98
It is using the Generic Television driver and I have a intel 945GM chipset. My computer is a Dell E1505. Here is the info on the TV using mon info... though I am not too sure what to make of it.

I don't think this is going to work in the way you want it to. Svideo only transmits 480i (576i for PAL); even if you somehow get the TV to send 1280x720 your TV won't accept it.
