How can I edit my published posts in this forum? (for fixing typos, etc)

Maybe I am missing something obvious here.

In the top right corner of your post there is an edit option, next to "Send Author a Message"

Ahh, I see it now.

You have to hover with the mouse on the line that contains the post title (the one in blue). Then click on the gear icon (which seems to be used for settings these days), and then click on edit.

Thanks!, I just assumed it would be rendered as part of the normal post layout.

Edit: The instructions I just wrote seems to be valid only for the first post. Later posts on the thread will show an edit link right away on the top right.

For me it's not that complex, it's right next to my post...

Yeah, the instructions I wrote are only for the first post on a thread.

Check any thread that you have started, and you will notice that there isn't any edit link in the first message.
