Help a newb get his 1680x1050 back!

i just upgraded to a AOC/Envision 22" flat LCD w/VGA cable.

upon restarting, as I've read in other threads, the 1680x1050 option vanished and updating the driver doesn't seem to help. I have a desk job and know enough tech speak to get me in trouble, so if there's a plain-english way to go about programming the res back in, please reply.

I have looked for the .inf file and didnt' have any luck. Card is 82865G

no love yet? I can usually solve stuff, just need a point in the right direction. Its a bummer running at 1600x1200. "Close enough" doesn't really cut it.

For the 865 chipsets, you have to install the IEGD drivers and go through a significant amount of configuration to get custom resolutions like that. It's doable, but complex. So how bad do you want it?
