I want to make sure I understand named-user license

Hello,

I am the main user of a 16-node, ~800 CPU computer cluster at an academic facility. I just want to make sure that I understand the named-user license and if it's a good fit for us.

I undertand that with a named-user license for Parallel Studio XE, any number of instances of compiler processes may be used at a given time, but only by the named user. If I compile an executable using this named-user license that links to the MKL libraries, am I still the only person able to run it? If we buy a version with Intel MPI and that is wrapped onto the fortran compiler, then no one else will be able to run jobs with that compiled executable in parallel? Is the user that invokes the Intel Compiler Suite software build automatically the only user allowed to use it?

Thanks.

any user will be able to use the compiled binaries, Only the owner of the license is to use the compiler and libraries associated with the license.

Did that answer your questions ?

Regards,

Kenneth
