Hi,
I'm new here and to forums in general so I apologise if this has been posted before or if i'm not following the rules.
Having scoured the internet for hours, i've been unable to find a solution to my problem.
The thought of sitting down in front of my computer and having it sign in automatically with 'Windows Hello' was very appealing to me so I went ahead and purchased the 'Microsoft Kinect for Windows Adapter (Xbox One)'.
I've gone ahead and plugged it all in, installed RS SDK (even though it gave me the error message: The installer failed to detect an Intel® RealSense™ 3D camera on this system. Certain SDK features require an Intel RealSense 3D camera.)
Then I went on to try and install RS DCM, however I received the following error message again when trying to install: 'The installer failed to detect an Intel® RealSense™ 3D camera on this system. The installation was terminated.'.
I am sure that the computer recognises the Kinect and has enough power because when I try to run the program: 'Kinect Studio v2.0', the Kinect lights up and the program functions. Also, i've tried to update all my drivers and have installed all Windows updates.
I'm not sure if it helps but here are some system specs:
Windows 10 Pro, i5-4670K, 8GB RAM, GTX 970.
As a bit of a newbie so i'm hoping some pro around here can answer.
- Is Kinect v2 even compatible with Windows Hello and RS SDK?
- Am I going through the right procedure to try and get this to work?
Kind regards,
Yush

Hi Yush,
You need to buy an Intel RealSense 3D camera to use the RealSense SDK, not a Kinect v2.
They are different products, from different companies.

Thanks for your reply.
So I can't use Kinect v2 with Windows Hello then?

Well, maybe, but definitely not with the RealSense SDK, so you will not get much help here.
You should ask in the Kinect or Microsoft forums.
