I’m currently trying to install the MPSS on the Intel Xeon Phi using SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP2. I've downloaded the latest MPSS for SLES 11S SP2 from the Intel MIC Site: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-manycore-platform-software-stack-mpss Direct File Link http://registrationcenter.intel.com/irc_nas/3047/KNC_gold_update_2-2.1.5889-16-suse-11.2.tar Using the latest Installation Instructions I’m coming up with the following error: Step 5 – 5) Untar and install the Intel(R) MPSS package. user_prompt> tar xvf KNC_gold_update_2-5889-16-rhel-6.0.tar user_prompt> cd KNC_gold_update_2 o SUSE* Linux* Enterprise Server user_prompt> sudo zypper --no-gpg-checks install *.rpm For which I receive this: Loading repository data... I’ve triple checked all the steps and verified I’m using the correct Kernel (kernel 3.0.13-0.27-default) and latest MPSS and yet I’m still receiving the error. Any help would be supported. Thanks

It looks like you need the tar file set up specifically for your suse version, rather than attempting to follow the letter of the redhat 6.0 instructions, including the tar file which was built for that older distro.

That again was my mistake with the Copy / Paste. I currently am using the correct tar file:

Any advice would be appreciated.
