The installation script of the Fortran compiler (m_fcompxe_2011.2.142.dmg, Fortran Composer XE 2011) gives an error when open in a MacBook Pro (startup 64 bits by default, 64-bit Kernel and Extensions: Yes). The error message: "Could not run startup script".
I could install the *same* package on an iMac, also under Snow Leopard, but with:
64-bit Kernel and Extensions: No
I want to use it in 64 bit mode.
Thank for your help
Alberto.

I solved the problem. I created a directory /Users/Shared/Library/Application\ Support/Intel with chmod 777
and verified that /tmp was also 777
Nothing to do wit 64 bits!
Sorry.
