Manage Host Information

I recently upgraded my maintenance renewal for another year and went to the registration page and everything looked OK.
Then I clicked "upgrade" and the S/N changed and now I need to re-activate the new S/N.
I didn't even want (or need) a new S/N, now I am not sure of the status of my subscription, etc.
I activated the new license and even got the license file for the new S/N, but where's the "Manage Host Information"?
What if my computer changes to have a new MAC address?
How do you change the "Host Information"?
Do you need to re-generate a new license file in that circumstance?

I would appreciate some help, thanks.

Hello John, We have recently changed our license model to the new system-locked license model. As a result the new SN was issued. When the new SN is activated the HostID of your system is registered as well. You can find more information regarding this here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/required-product-license-upgrade-for-intel-parallel-studio-xe-2016 You can manage your license and hostID in Registration Center. The hostID of the system doesn't change, unless the product is installed on another machine - in this case a new license is generated to match the hostID of the new system. For more information on HostID and how to find it please check the following article: https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/how-to-find-the-host-id-for-the-named-user-license Let me know if you have any other questions. Regards,

Thank you. Will a 2016 license file with a new S/N work with an older pre-existing installation?
In other words, if I copy the new license file to the correct location, will my pre-existing installation (IPS XE 2015) still work?
Or do I only need to do this if I actually upgrade to 2016 (keep in mind I am not ready yet to install the upgrade).

If you chose not to upgrade, your current license file will continue to work with older versions. However you will not be able to download and install the new 2016 release without upgrading your license. Your old license file will work for older versions, the new 2016 license will work if you decided to upgrade.

Not quite what I meant... I have upgraded the license already, and have the new file.
I have not downloaded or installed the new product yet (because I'm not ready to do so yet).
Should I copy the new license file (which contains the new "maintenance" extension) to the C:\PF(x86)\Common Files\Intel\Licenses folder?
Or will this cause issues with the currently installed product (2015 XE)?

You can copy the new license file to the C:\PF(x86)\Common Files\Intel\Licenses folder. However in this case you will need to manually activate the new SN by providing the HostID in Intel Registration Center. Once you enter the HostID information you will be able to download or email the new license file.

If you need assistance with the above. Please send me the SN and HostID privately via "Send Author A Message." I will help you with new SN activation, as well as obtaining license file which you will be able to use with your current installations.

This article describes how to obtain a new license file:
