PLEASE HELP - Unable to connect new Vizio monitor to Lenovo T43 Intel 915GM/GMS video card

I've got a Lenovo T43 that's using an intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML video card and just bought a new 26" Vizio VMM26F201 monitor to connect to it. My first issue is that I can't see anything on the monitor when connecting using a dvi cable. The other problem is that i can only get it to work when connected through VGA, BUT I'm only able to see it in 1600x120 or 2048x1536 resolution. 1920x1200 is the resolution I'm looking for and the option is not available.

Any assistance will be much appreciated! Thanks!
