When trying to upgrade from CVF 6.5 to 6.6 using the downloadable upgrade, I get the following error message:
Error: registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREDigitalEquipmentCorporationVisualFortranCurrentVersion not found.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? Do I have to re-install 6.5 (arghhhh)?
If I remember correctly, the installation of 6.5 (which was actually an upgrade from version 5) completed without any problems. Therefore, I am not sure why this key is missing.
Thanks,
Gabriel

You uninstalled CVF 6.5 - yes, the 6.5-6.6 upgrade requires 6.5 to be installed - it is not self-sufficient the way the 5.0-6.5 upgrade is (that's also why it's free!)

By way of clarification, I have not removed 6.5. I was asking whether I had to un-install 6.5 and then re-install it to get rid of this problem. I hoe there are better solutions!
Any other suggestion?

See my response from vf-support@compaq.com.
That error indicates that Visual Fortran was uninstalled, but it could be that you uninstalled 5.0 after installing 6.5. Reinstalling is the best way to fix the problem.
