Hi,

I'm having prolems runningthe Intel License Manager for FLEXlm. This is the output I get for the status
--------

Status

--------

Flexible License Manager status on Thu 5/13/2010 09:29

[Detecting lmgrd processes...]

License server status: 28518@vm-dudhi.iso.port.ac.uk

License file(s) on vm-dudhi.iso.port.ac.uk: C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Intel\\Licenses\\COM_L_CMP__XXXX-XXXXXJX4.lic:

vm-dudhi.iso.port.ac.uk: license server UP (MASTER) v11.6

Vendor daemon status (on vm-dudhi.iso.port.ac.uk):

INTEL: The desired vendor daemon is down.

Check the lmgrd log file, or try lmreread.

Vendor:Host: vm-dudhi.iso.port.ac.uk

License path: 28518@vm-dudhi.iso.port.ac.uk;

FLEXnet Licensing error:-97,121

For further information, refer to the FLEXnet Licensing documentation,

available at "www.acresso.com".

Output belowis from the log. Each time I run the Intel License Manager for FLEXlm 2 lmgrd.intel.exe processesare visible in Task Manager but no INTEL process. Thereare other copies of lmgrd running but various versions usually co-exist on our licensingserver. The server is a virtual server is this a problem? I'm not sure why it is looking to C:\\FLEXLM\\INTEL as thedaemonis now in C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Intel\\FLEXlm. I haven't rebooted yet as this is a live system and will need to go through change request. Any ideas gratefully received.

9:47:29 (lmgrd) Rereading license file... Requested from Administrator@vm-dudhi

9:47:29 (lmgrd) Reread: Started INTEL (pid 15640) 9:47:29 (lmgrd) Done rereading

9:47:29 (lmgrd) ...Finished rereading

9:47:29 (INTEL) FLEXnet Licensing version v11.6.1.0 build 66138 i86_n3

9:47:29 (INTEL) cannot open lock file (C:\\FLEXLM\\INTEL): Permission denied

9:47:29 (INTEL) EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 32 Exit reason 9

9:47:34 (lmgrd) INTEL exited with status 32 (Exited because another server was running)

9:47:34 (lmgrd) MULTIPLE "INTEL" license server systems running.

9:47:34 (lmgrd) Using Task Manager, stop INTEL and run lmreread

9:47:34 (lmgrd)

9:47:34 (lmgrd) This error probably results from:

9:47:34 (lmgrd) 1. Another copy of the license server manager (lmgrd) is running.

9:47:34 (lmgrd) 2. Another copy of the vendor daemon is running.

9:47:34 (lmgrd) 3. The locking mechanism(s) were removed by an

9:47:34 (lmgrd) outside program.

Hi Teresa,

Please check if your environment variable INTEL_LICENSE_FILE is pointing to C:\FLEXLM\INTEL. If yes, please set its value to the directory where your intel license file residents (usually C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\Licenses). See if this solve the problem.

Thank you.

17:20:04 (lmgrd) Starting vendor daemons ... 17:20:04 (lmgrd) Started INTEL (pid 412) 17:20:04 (INTEL) FLEXnet Licensing version v11.10.0.0 build 95001 x64_n6 17:20:04 (INTEL) EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 32 Exit reason 9 17:20:07 (lmgrd) INTEL exited with status 32 (Exited because another server was running) 17:20:07 (lmgrd) MULTIPLE "INTEL" license server systems running. This FlexLM error occurs when the path to the license file includes a directory with the same name (e.g., intel) as the name of the licensing daemon (e.g., intel.exe). This occurs with many applications using network-served license files.

The solution is to rename the interferring directory name
