Profiling cache misses in CilkPlus applications

Hello. One quick question: how safe is it to profile CilkPlus applications with Linux perf tools? To tell you guys the truth I've never been able to make Cilkprof run (problems with pintools, usually), so I would like a more stable way to profile my apps. So, is perf safe?
