This is a question received by Intel Software Network Support, along withanswers provided by our Application Engineering team:
Q. How is virtualization implemented in HP Integrity* (SuperDome) servers, since, reportedly, VMWare* support does not exist for Intel Itanium processor-based platforms? Has HP developed proprietary VMM capability for end users by leveraging VT-x and VT-i?
A. Xen has a hypervisor implementation to support VT-i on HP Intel Itanium processor basedservers. See this link on gelato.org.
HP also has their own virtualization solution as well. Their virtualization software is called HP Integrity VM*. This link provides a lot more information. For specific information on their virtual machine software, see this link.
