The Q8400 processor has VT built-in. The DG31PR motherboard has VT enabled in the bios.
But when I "cat /proc/cpuinfo" no vmx flag shows up.

Which Linux/UNIX OS are you using?
Also, does the OS run directionly on the hardware, or inside a VM/Guest?

Ubuntu 8.04 x86_64 running directly on the hardware.
I found the issue after installing VMware server (1.0.9) and it reported that it could not virtualize 64bit guests because there was no virtualization support in the CPU.
