Hello,
Intel has put so much emphasis in it's ray-tracing strategy, i would like to know if there is a community accepted open standard API similar to OpenGL (OpenRT is proprietary afaik) that can be used to develop next-next-generation game engines. What tools does intel provide to develop ray-tracing programs?
I hope that Intel respects developers enough to provide an open standard API under the Khronos umbrella, to support ray-tracing. Lets not have yet another standards war, with multiple vendors ending up being gravelly hurt, along with the developers and users. Is such a standard to be expected?
Thank you.
