I know they share the same depth resolution.
In theory, the F200 model should have an advantage on 3D scanning because of their short distance. But the R200 have new/better 3D capabilities.
What are the best for high resolution 3D scan?
My goal is to scan a person. I am working with skanect and kinect v1 but i think realsense can produce betetr results.

They have different use cases. F200 is meant for face and possibly small objects - if you want to put them on something like a lazy susan and rotate them as the camera is not meant to move. The R200 has a full head and a body scan functionality so that is the one to use. Please see the documentation in the SDK guide and some tips and tricks on 3d scanning here at software.intel.com

It's shipping? I ordered back in March, but still see "Pre-Order Hold."
Has anyone who ordered an R200 received one?
