Hi,
We got alicense upgrade for Intel Fortran 11.1 recently for an old SSR renewal. I didn't know when that old SSR was expired. But it apparantly expired 2.5 years ago on April 2008. We paid $299 for a licenseupgrade which extendedour SSR from April 2008 to April 2009. I realized this after we got the new serial number. So as of now we have no license and no tech support. I dont understand how this is possible. How canIntel take the moneyfor a renewal that is no good. Isn't that a ripp off?
You need to either give us a renewal that is valid for a year forward or apply this $299 toward the purchase of the full product.
If you email me directly, I can give you all the serial numbers.
Thanks,
Sassan

Hi Sassan,
Each renewal extends your support for one year from the expiration date of your current support agreement. Since you say that the license expired in April 2008 it needs 3 renewals actually to ensure you are able to download and install the latest version or upgrades, as each renewal only extends to 1 year from date of expiration. So, one needs to evaluate whether a renewal is better or whether it's better to buy or purchase the product depending on how many renewals are needed and the cost of purchase itself.
The linkhttp://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/buy-or-renew/ should allow you to do that evaluation accordingly.
Please let me know if the above helps or you need any further clarification, thanks much.
