Trying to make old Fortran 8.1 windows compilation work, but license fails

Back in 2007 I think we purchased the Intel 8.1 Fortran compiler. I installed it at the time but the purpose for which we purchased it was non critical and am only now trying to get to it. The machine I originally installed it on has since expired its lease and is gone from the company.

I downloaded the 8.1 fortran and installed on my Windows 7 box.

I went to registration center and requested change host.

the flexlm that installed with 8.1 doesn't seem to start properly and I couldn't find any errors to explain the problem.

I was successfully using Fortran 8.0 and Fortran 10.0 withon a linux box served from the same linux box so I changed my license host information again for server as my linux box and node as my win7 box.

The license log file running on linux now shows:
6:40:06 (lmgrd) FLEXlm (v9.23) started on xxxxxx.usa.agilent.com (linux) (2/24/2011)
6:40:06 (lmgrd) Copyright (c) 1988-2004 by Macrovision Corporation. All rights reserved.
6:40:06 (lmgrd) US Patents 5,390,297 and 5,671,412.
6:40:06 (lmgrd) World Wide Web: http://www.macrovision.com
6:40:06 (lmgrd) License file(s): /hfs/d1/local/intel/flexlm/server.lic /hfs/d1/local/intel/flexlm/server2.lic
6:40:06 (lmgrd) lmgrd tcp-port 28518
6:40:06 (lmgrd) Starting vendor daemons ...
6:40:06 (lmgrd) Started INTEL (internet tcp_port 35364 pid 1990)
6:40:06 (INTEL) FLEXlm version 9.23
6:40:07 (INTEL) Server started on xxxxxx.usa.agilent.com for:
6:40:07 (INTEL) IFFXXXXXX (consisting of: FCompL)
6:40:07 (INTEL) IEEXXXXXX (consisting of: FCompW)

and when I compile on linux I see:
6:49:29 (INTEL) OUT: "IFFXXXXXX" user@xxxxxxx
6:49:29 (INTEL) OUT: "FCompL" user@xxxxxx
6:49:30 (INTEL) IN: "FCompL" user@xxxxxx
6:49:30 (INTEL) IN: "IFFxXXXXX" user@xxxxxx

but when I compile from windows, I get this repeated over and over:
6:41:14 (INTEL) DENIED: "FCompW" user@yyyyyyy (INVALID FLEXlm error code (-9999,333))

How can I further troubleshoot this? I've tried two different lmhostid's for the win7 box-- one based on my lan MAC and one based on the wireless MAC. Both numbers were listed when I did ./lmutil lmhostid on the win7 box from the flexlm directory installed with 8.1 on windows.

Is win7 not supported?

I'm using Fortran 8.0 on linux and Fortran 8.1 on windows, but my license allows Fortran 10.0 to run on linux too so I don't think that should be an issue.

I could try installing/running from the XP Mode VM inside my win7, but didn't know if flexlm would be happy with a VM environment.

Any help?

This issue was resolved privately. The solution was to update host information in the license file.
