Unable to install update Gigabit network connection

I have the Intel 82567LM-2 Gigabit Network Connection which at present is using version 17.0. Windows 7 64bit. Intel DX58SO motherboard. Intel downloads shows there is a update for the Gigabit controller...version 17.1. I have uninstalled the 'old' 17.0 and run the 17.1 installer...twice. Gigabit properties still show I have the 17.0 version installed. What am I not doing right?
