VMWare with Intel

Does anyone have a good resource that evaluated VMWare running on Intel vs. AMD? We want to go with Intel for a Cloud Computing platform, but I have to prove that I've done the research on alternatives. If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate it.

A reasonable request, but one that is difficult to answer in this public forum due to legal concerns. Intel product pages (http://mark.intel.com) speak to platform features and specifications, and technology pages (http://www.intel.com/technology/product) speak to key technologies. You might try independent press labs for competitive data, or perhaps VMWare provides such data.

That's pretty fair David, I appreciate the links and will spend more time looking at that material. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I'm runningVM on INTEL:
on my machine, a Intel D5400XS, 2*E5405 Xeon, 16GB RAM, 3TB diskspacerun VMware2.0 sucessful on Vista64Professional.
Don't forget to switch the hadware virtualisation in the BIOS settings to ON.
Following VM-systems are running:
VM XP64Professional (4GB RAM)
VM SuSE11 Linux (2GB RAM)
VM Windows7 RC (4GB RAM)
VM NT4 Server DomainController (256MB RAM)
With this RAM configuration all 4 VM's can run parallel on host Vista64Professional without problems.
This machine runs now more than a year under 100% full load with the setiakv8-application from Lunatics. http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php
It's powerful, it's stable, it's INTEL
