hey, new here!
windows 7, SP1
hp pavilion dv7 7135us with intel HD 4000 graphics
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834256513
using the intel driver update, there is a much newer driver for HD 4000. but the HP laptop refuses to let me install, saying it is not approved by HP and i must try to get it from HP. but HP does not have it.
i have tried uninstalling the old drivers and even deleting them at the same time, but the laptop still keeps reinstalling it! i don't know how it does that.
any ideas? HP is not offerinlg any support on how i can do this. thanks!

Hi Mark,
I have a few suggestions - first, make sure you have admin access on your account.
1st - download the latest HD 4000 drivers: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+drivers&ProductProduct=3rd+Generation+Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+Processors+with+Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics+4000
2nd - disable Windows Updates (temporarily)
3rd - see if you have any HP auto updating software running - and if so, disable it (let me know if you need help with it)
4th - uninstall the HP drivers
5th - install the latest Intel drivers
Let us know how it goes - I'm sure we can figure something out

I used to have same problem before in my previous HP product. I wasn't able to download HD driver through HP support assistance. So, I download that directly in intel.
