How do you programatically determine if a cpu chip is an intelchip and if yes how do you determine if it has a dual core?

Hi John,

We recommend you start by looking at Application Note AP-485, Intel Processor Identification and the CPUID Instruction.

Search for "Multicore" in that document for information about how the number of processor cores is returned.
