html 5 video not playing on device

I have been able to successfully play a local html 5 video on the test to device option in xdk, but when i build the app (android) and view it on my device the video does not play. i am running on android 4.4.4 has anyone had a similar problem? This is a standard html 5 project, no cordova.

Can you try building for Android crosswalk?

I would recommend try building this sample
