I'm having similar problems as well, but with graphics whatever. When I try to play the Sims2, I get an error message saying "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."
I don't really understand what it means, other than I've updated my drivers countless times. It's been working fine for about a month now, and all of the sudden that pops up. Anyone know what to do, please?

Not sure if this is any help to people. I recently rolled 600 PCs from Win2k to XP and got this error on many PCs. I have finally tracked down the problem to the BIOS version. These PCs all have Intel D865G mother boards. I only got the problem with BIOS versions up to P11. P14 was OK but had no P12 or P13 boards so not sure. I think it was fixed in P12 though. Anyway the solution was to flash the BIOS to the latest version - P25. No problems since.
Cheers

I have this problem as well. I don't play games on my Acer C110 running Table PC. I get the IALMRNT5.dll error when I run IE6 or IE7. My machine has WinXP service Pak 3 and all the lastest drivers from ACER. I tried numerous times to fix this problem by reinstalling the orginal AcerVGA drivers and INTEL's updates (6.14.10.4543 for the 945GM Express Chip Set). I've adjusted the accelerator settings in Display/Troubleshooting but nothing works to prevent this error.
The IALMRNT5.dll has been going on for years. I have read every posting this forum has regarding this error. To date there is no fix. INTEL has a problem and they have failed to adequately respond to the problem.
INTEL please address the IALMRNT5.dll error problem with a solid fix!!

I have been able to significantly reduce the number of times I get theIalmrnt5.dll error on my Acer C110 runnign WinXP Tablet (Service Pack 3).
Here is how:
Download Microsofts DirectX* Version:9.0 located at:
Rebootthe computer
Next:download the latest Intel Graphic Updateforthe computer's graphic card
Rebootthe computer
Next: Open the control panel/display properties/advance/troubleshoots. Slide the accelerator to FULL and check Enable Write Combining. Slide the accelerator back if needed if Ialmrnt5 driver error persists.
Opencontrol panel/extreme grahics property/3D settings and set Driver Memory Footprint to LOW
Rebootthe computer
This has worked wonders from me on my ACER C110.
Note this has not completelyeliminated the Ialmrnt5 driver error problem but at least I don't get the blue screen any more- it changes the display settings to 800 by 600 pixels so I can keep working on the computer without loosing my work!
I hope this helps others who have the Ialmrnt5 driver error!!

I FIXED MY IALMRNT5 ON MY DELL INSPIRON 1200!
i had problems with my driver for my graphics card:ialmrnt5
after hours i finally fixed it.
i went to dell.com (manufacterer of my computer)
looked up my labtop version and found drivers.
downloaded a old driver because the updated one i had,had the error.
then i rebooted computer found a updated driver.
now it works. so uninstalling the updated driver then re-installing it works.
apperently intel(company) had issues with ialmrnt5 and if you have the error on the most recent driver it wont let you re-download that driver unless you un-install it or download a previous version.
IF IT HELPS! YOUR WELCOME :p
