Hi all
In the course of googling for the source of my problem, I came across a report filed on this forum (with the same topic as this one). Reading this topic, it appears that some of you Intel folk know what the cause is, although it's not made clear in the replies to the post.I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction since the mce error is profoundly uninformative to me.
As luck would have it, I have precisely the same MCE error. In fact, the only thing that differs from the cited post is the time stamp. Here's a snip of my mcelog
mcelog: failed to prefill DIMM database from DMI data Kernel does not support page offline interface Hardware event. This is not a software error. MCE 0 CPU 0 BANK 0 ADDR fef80000 TIME 1475282659 Sat Oct 1 07:44:19 2016 MCG status: MCi status: Uncorrected error MCi_ADDR register valid Processor context corrupt MCA: Internal unclassified error: 410 Running trigger `unknown-error-trigger' STATUS a600000007600410 MCGSTATUS 0 MCGCAP 806 APICID 0 SOCKETID 0 CPUID Vendor Intel Family 6 Model 77
Some details: this is a (formerly named) Rangeley Atom SoC C2558 running on a Supermicro A1SRi-2558F motherboard with 16GB of ECC RAM and an Intel SSD (DC S3500 series SSDSC2BB160G4). The RAM has incidentally passed 24 straight hours of memtest86+ with no errors. The software platform is Openwrt with a 3.18 kernel.
Like the original poster, this error is generated precisely 300 seconds after boot.
Any pointers to the probable cause of the error would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Ian
