Hi, All !

My application records voice from telephone line using voice mode on Intel 536ep-based modem. OS - Win2k/WinXP, tried different drivers, including downloaded from intel site (4.77.8.0). Tried 2 modems from different vendors, both haveDQ82536EP and DY82358 ( I suppose , remarked MD1724 ;) ) chips onboard.
I've got a problem using 16bit PCM compression mode (AT+VSM=1,11025,0,0). When PC performing I/O-intensive operations, like copying a big file on USB flash, I've got lost bytes in recorded data flow. It's very easy to hear that one byte is lost when using 16 bit PCM ;) ... I got a piece of noise until another byte is lost ...
Application uses synchronous ReadFile(), I tried different buffer sizes , DCB and timeouts settings for COM-port but with no success ...
I havent noticed such effectwith Conexant 11252 modem
recording voice in 16bit/8000Hz mode, so I suspect there is a problem with intel driver.
Could anyone send this message to developers of the driver? Maybe I need to set some special settings in DCB ?
Regards
Alex Shinkin

Hello Alex.

Greetings from Intel Software Network Support. Information about support for modem chipset drivers can be found at http://developer.intel.com/design/modems/support/drivers.htm. On that page near the bottom, there is a section for design assistance for developers who are designing new products using ourmodem chipsets. There is a link therewhich takes you to http://developer.intel.com/design/modems/index.htm.

I hope this gives you the information you need to help you resolve your problem.

Best regards,
