Hello,

we are having issues with a KNL. it is a HPE model XL260a Gen9, and we are trying to change its cluster mode to any of the quadrant modes and it does not work. all2all  in cache and flat memory modes works but when we set snc-4,  or hemisphere, we get the following message as the system boots up

396-Cluster Model Configuration Error - The processor/DIMM configuration does
NOT support the configured Cluster Model. System will operate in All2All Mode.
Action: Check documentation for supported configurations.

i checked the hpe support site and i did not find any documents that contained that error message.  do you have any suggestions?

thanks,

yah

It sounds like the system does not have the same amount of memory installed on each memory controller.

This can happen on a system that looks correctly configured if one or more DIMMs fails the power-on tests and is deconfigured by the BIOS.

yes, that was the problem. the vendor sent us the node with uneven distribution of DIMMs. I just had to redistributed equally and that fixed the problem

thanks
