screen resolution

Hello everybody i'm new here.
and of course i have a question.
I have an acer leptop with Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family, Mobile Intel GMA X3100.
I would be happy to set the screen resolution higher than tha maximum resolution of the screen as i have been doing it with an ATI Radeon graphic card and "slide" the screen. I had a "normal 19'inch screen and i have been using 2048x1536. I don't even know how you call this "functionality". I'm sure it is possible just i'm ignorant :d about the solution.
Please if any one of you have any idea how i can do it with my laptop share it with me.
