When loading Windows, VROC has irregular boot times, minimum 23 seconds, IF it boots.
At times, when hitting shut down, it will reboot instead,
sometimes it will not shut down at all.
With 960 EVO as boot drive, 2 seconds boot time and shut down.
Above is with the 4 Optane drives in software RAID0 for storage.
System configuration:
ASrock X299 Taichi XE motherboard
i9 7900X CPU
64GB DDR4 2666 Crucial memory
EVGA 1080ti SC2 Hybrid graphics
4 x 280GB 900P Optane U.2 to M.2 drives
Asus Hyper M.2 x 16 AIC
Asrock Thunderbolt 3 AIC
Intel VROCISSDMOD key
Corsair 1000W Platinum PS
Corsair 280mm AIO
15 total fans on system
Hottest it gets benchmarking is 72c
I have an open ticket with no resolution.
One time I thought it was Corsair link, but that was not it.
The speed of the system is amazing, on Optane Q1T1 in excess of 200 MBPS.
In software raid as storage, in excess of 300 MBPS.
But it won't boot quickly in VROC on Optane,
the fastest drive on the planet.
Anyone?

Even as a storage device, using VROC in bios and iRSTE program,
bizarre boot and shut down times.
Tried yet another approach last night.
No dice.

Hello FidaGillani,
Thank you for contacting Intel Technical Support.
During our investigation we have determined that since Intel® VROC was developed as a business/enterprise technology, we don't recommend using end user SSD's such as 900p or 760p because they are not validated, instead we recommend using our professional or data center SSDs which has been validated to work properly with VROC RAID Arrays.
We hope you find this information useful.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
Josh B.
