  3. Can you tell me why are you trying to update? Are you having issues with the card?

Hello YShi_LMu,

Thank you for the update.

Can you try to manually download and install the generic driver below:

I can install this driver successfully, but Intel still prompts me to update the ICPS and ICM drivers in the taskbar. Will it affect functions such as wireless and Bluetooth if it is not updated? If it doesn't affect, I won't care anymore.

Hello YShi_LMu,

Thank you for the clarification.

Can you try to follow these steps in installing ICPS and ICM:

  1. Uninstall the current driver version
  2. Download the OEM driver from HUAWEI's website
  3. Install the OEM driver

Contact your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to install the Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite (ICPS) for Intel® Wireless Products, and Intel® Connectivity Manager (ICM) OEM drivers.  Drivers provided by the OEM can contain specific customizations that impact a device's functionality. Therefore, using a generic driver from Intel could potentially cause issues.

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

According to US policy, Intel has stopped cooperating with Huawei. In Huawei's driver software, there is no requirement for me to update this driver. So, what exactly does this driver affect? Is it necessary to update this driver?

Hello YShi_LMu,

Thank you for the update.

Let me share this link:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091942/wireless/wireless-software.html

In the link above, you can see the overview of ICPS and ICM and also their usage.

If the system is asking for you to update these drivers, that means the system needs these application to function properly.

You may contact the laptop manufacturer for the full details of its functionality with your laptop since they are the one who configured it.

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

In Huawei's software, I checked the driver update column and found that Huawei did not require an update. I'm not quite sure what this driver affects either, and my daily use is fine. Is it okay not to update it?

I have the same problem, but i'm the EVO laptop equipment with win11-24h2,CPU: i9-13905h ,NVIDIA 4060 laptop version.

I found it on the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant website(英特尔® 驱动程序和支持助理) that the driver could be upgraded, which proves that my hardware supports ICPS. So I chose to install and upgrade. However, the following error occurred during the installation process. May I ask how I can solve it?

Is it because my computer lacks some necessary software or drivers? I haven't found any other available updates on the Intel-Support website(https://www.intel.cn/content/www/cn/zh/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html). Moreover, during the installation process, only the CMD window popped up and there was no error display. When the progress bar reached 100%, a pop-up window told me that the installation had failed. The following is my device configuration:

Hello YShi_LMu,

Thank you for the update.

By the way, let me check. Are you using an EVO laptop?

Can you take a photo of the laptop focusing on the EVO badge?

Hi @YShi_LMu,

I wanted to reach out to you following an internal review of your case, which we conducted yesterday. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide you with the best possible support.

Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for any confusion caused by our earlier responses. We are committed to ensuring clarity and accuracy in our communications with you.

After consulting with the Huawei PC Manager, we have determined that no system update is necessary at this time. We recommend keeping your system as it is for now to maintain optimal performance.

You may have noticed a prompt from the Intel Driver and Support Assistant suggesting an update due to the recent release of ICM and ICPS. Please be assured that these drivers are generic and apply to all systems using ICPS and ICM. However, since the Huawei PC Manager indicates that your laptop does not require this driver update, we advise you to hide the update for ICM and ICPS.

Here are some important reasons why it's best to use the official drivers provided by the manufacturer of your device:

  1. Manufacturer-provided drivers are specifically tailored to work seamlessly with their hardware models, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing potential issues.
  2. These drivers undergo extensive testing by the manufacturer to ensure they function well with the hardware and supported operating systems.
  3. Generic or third-party drivers may not support all the features of your device. Manufacturer drivers often include utilities or enhancements that unlock the full potential of your hardware.

For further assistance and inquiry, please contact your system manufacturer.

Best regards,

Randy T.
