Hello.
I have debian 12 with proxmox on my homelab server with asrock b450m pro4 and PCI AX210.
I have good speed link:

iw dev wlp1s0 link
Connected to 78:c5:f8:1e:01:40 (on wlp1s0)

        Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi

But upload speed to low, see iperf from my PC with cable Eth connection to router and my homelab server with AX210:

But download result is good:

I don't understand what the problem is, since the problem doesn't occur constantly. While I was writing this message, the upload speed was restored:

Hello AntonP8O,

Greetings from Intel® Customer Support.

After reviewing the specifications, I have a few clarifications:

1. Could you please provide the make and model of the PCIe card to which the wireless card is connected?

2. Is the wireless connection functioning properly with Windows? According to the motherboard manual, it appears to support only the Windows operating system.

3. When did it start to happen?

4. Do you remember if this issue happened after a new OS update or Wireless driver update?

5. Were you able to have a wireless connection in a normal/expected performance before?

6. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

I will wait for your reply.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

1. My Wi-Fi card AX210 is installed in my Proxmox server and is connected via Wi-Fi to the Huawei XD20 router. In this configuration, I have WDS (4addr) running, and I am experiencing an issue with low outgoing speed from the server. I replaced the Huawei XD20 router with a Xiaomi AX3000T (with OpenWrt firmware). My WDS (4addr) stopped working and the problem with low outgoing speed from the server persisted.
2. I have not tested it on Windows.
3. The problem appeared after installing this Wi-Fi card.
4. No.
5. No.
6. There are no built-in Wi-Fi adapters on the motherboard. I purchased it and installed it in a PCI x16 slot. For testing, I disabled WDS on the Proxmox server and the problem remained.

PCIe Wireless card carrier designs, regardless of the actual Wireless card used, are notorious for not working properly when plugged into anything other than a PCIe x1 connector. I suggest that you try moving it to your board's x1 connector and see if this alleviates the problem.
Hope this helps,

Hello AntonP8O,

I apologize for the delay in response.

Have you tried the troubleshooting suggested by n_scott_pearson? If yes and if the issue persists, please share the logs of the following command output for analysis:

  1. $ hostnamectl > hostname.txt
  2. # lspci > lspci.txt
  3. # modinfo iwlwifi > iwlwifi.txt
  4. # lsmod | grep iwlwifi > lsmod.txt

I will wait for your reply.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Hello AntonP8O,

Currently, my colleague is away as such I will be as handling the thread for now. There are just some following questions that I would like to ask. Can you tell me if you have installed the wireless driver when you install the wifi card on the server? If you haven't installed the wireless driver please try to install the drive by following this link: Linux* Support for Intel® Wireless Adapters and Intel® Wireless Wi-Fi Drivers for Linux* Also, can you share to me what kernel version you are currently using?

Hello AntonP8O,

I was waiting for your feedback about the recommendations shared by my colleague and I have not received any response in the past few days.

In case the issue persists, I highly recommend contacting your motherboard manufacturer support for a possible OS compatibility issue.

I will now proceed to close this thread.

Should you need assistance in the future, please submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Sincerely,

JeanetteC.

If you're experiencing intermittent low upload speeds with your Intel AX210, here are some quick troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check for Interference: Switch to the 5 GHz band if you're using 2.4 GHz, or reduce network congestion by disconnecting unnecessary devices.

  2. Update Drivers: Ensure you're using the latest drivers for your AX210 from Intel or your device manufacturer.

  3. Router Settings: Make sure your router supports Wi-Fi 6, use auto channel selection, and check if QoS settings are limiting your upload speed.

  4. Test Wired Connection: Try a wired Ethernet connection to see if the issue is specific to Wi-Fi.

  5. Adjust Power Settings: Set your PC to "High performance" power mode and disable power-saving options on the AX210.

  6. Close Background Apps: Ensure no apps are using up bandwidth in the background.

  7. Advanced Wi-Fi Settings: Adjust settings like "Roaming Aggressiveness" or "Transmit Power" for better performance.

  8. Test Different Upload Services: Check if the issue persists across various upload platforms.

  9. Firmware & Software: Update your router firmware and temporarily disable security software or VPNs that might interfere. These steps should help identify and resolve the issue
