Hello, I have a desktop computer with the MSI Z690i Unify motherboard, which has a built-in Wifi 6E AX211 160MHz adaptor, but I cannot find any 6GHz access points with the latest driver installed (23.30.0.6).
Uninstalling the driver and letting Windows update install the latest driver Microsoft has (22.190.0.4) works fine and allows me to find 6GHz access points. Edit: the latest version listed on MSI's website (22.230.0.8) also seems to work and allows the adaptor to find and connect to 6GHz networks.
I have tried changing the properties for the AX211 in the device manager, but no matter what, I cannot get the adaptor to find 6GHz networks with the latest driver (installed by DSA).
I have not tried any driver versions between 22.230.0.8 and 23.30.0.6 yet.
I have also updated the bios to the latest version on MSI's website.
Does anyone know why this could be the case?
Thank you very much for your assistance.

Hello WenF,
As per checking, I want to let you know that the usage of the 6GHz band relies on Microsoft Windows* (Windows® 11) support. What your system is exhibiting is a normal behavior. Given that this is also an Original Equipment Manufacturer device, it makes sense that the driver version they recommended is the one working as there are specific customizations that they might have done in the system in which only specific driver should work. We highly recommend installing the OEM driver recommendations as they are more familiar with the needs of the system. The Intel Driver and Support Assistant only offers generic drivers which are not specifically configured for OEM devices.

However, we also want to further check you system as well to make sure there are no existing issues. Please send us your SSU logs. Hello WenF,
I have not heard a response from you in the past few days. I hope you are doing alright. As mention in my previous post, since this is an Original Equipment Manufacturer device, we highly recommend installing their recommendations as they might require specific configurations on their system in order for it to function properly. You may also verify this information with MSI at this link:https://www.msi.com/support. For now, we will proceed in closing this case. In case you need further assistance, feel free to post a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.
