Product:
Intel Wireless Bluetooth - integrated adapter – Intel AX211 / AX210 family
System Information:
- OS: Windows 11 (fully updated)
- Bluetooth adapter: Intel AX211 / AX210 family
- Laptop: Samsung Book 5 Pro
- Bluetooth Devices Tested:
- Soundcore Life Q20 (over-ear headphones)
- Bluetooth earbuds (second device shows same behavior)
Issue Summary:
Bluetooth audio initially works after a reboot, but consistently fails after a short period of inactivity or when reconnecting during playback.
The Bluetooth connection remains active and shows as “Connected” in Windows, but audio does not play through the device.
Detailed Behavior:
- After reboot, Bluetooth audio works normally.
- If audio is paused or idle for ~10–20 minutes:
- Upon resuming playback, no sound is heard.
- Device still shows as connected.
- If Bluetooth is connected while a video is already playing:
- The video briefly buffers (“spinning circle”)
- Playback resumes, but no audio is output to the Bluetooth device
- Switching output devices or restarting audio services does not consistently restore sound.
- Troubleshooting Performed:
- Updated to latest Intel Bluetooth drivers → issue persists
- Issue has occurred across multiple driver versions
- Disabled Bluetooth and Wi-Fi power management settings
- Restarted Windows audio services
- Disabled audio enhancements (where available)
- Removed and re-paired Bluetooth devices
- Fully uninstalled Bluetooth drivers (including deleting driver software) and reinstalled
Key Finding:
After completely uninstalling the Intel Bluetooth driver and allowing Windows to install its generic Bluetooth driver, the issue appears to be resolved (no dropouts observed so far).
However, when Intel drivers are reinstalled via Windows Update, the issue returns.
Expected Behavior:
- Bluetooth audio should resume normally after idle
- No buffering or playback interruption when connecting Bluetooth during active media
- Stable A2DP audio stream without requiring reboot or driver reset
Request:
- Is this a known issue with recent Intel Bluetooth drivers on Windows 11?
- Are there recommended stable driver versions for systems experiencing A2DP dropout after idle?
- Are there specific settings (power, codec, LE Audio, etc.) that should be adjusted to prevent this behavior?
I’m happy to provide logs, exact adapter model (AX2xx series), or driver version details if needed.
Additional Notes:
This behavior is reproducible across multiple Bluetooth audio devices, suggesting the issue is within the Bluetooth driver stack rather than the peripherals.
Thank you for your assistance.
