Changing from a 4965agn wireless card to a 7260 card for my PCI-E on my HP laptop. The 4965agn has 3 wire that connect to it and the 7260 has two wires. Will the 7260 work in my system?
HP Pavilion DV6885se
Windows 7
Intel Wi-Fi Link 4965agn
Trying to put Windows 10 on my system but need to update the card. If this card will not work, what would you think would work for me?
Let me know. Thanks!

TedfromTonka,
Before replacing your wireless adapter that came installed by factory, Intel recommends to contact the http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html computer manufacturer , in this case, HP* as they are the only ones entitled to provide detailed information on this procedure regarding your specific system and which Intel® Wireless Adapter is the most indicated. The reason for this is that the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) may limit the computer to only specific wireless adapters and replacing it may cause installation errors when booting with an adapter different from the one installed by default.
Please, look at this advisory online in order to obtain more information about it: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005846.html Why Doesn't My Laptop Recognize My New Intel® Wireless Adapter?
Taking this opportunity, we also would like to inform you that additionally to the explained above, there are regulatory protocols and requirements applied by each country and/or region that your computer manufacturer must follow in order to determine if the intended Intel® Wireless Adapter can be installed in a certain computer model, and due to this, Intel does not support this procedure. Please access this link for more information on this matter: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005687.html Regulatory Information Regarding Hardware Installation or Upgrade
