I'm getting error 0x80004005 when installing Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite (ICPS). This is a relatively new LG gram system, Intel EVO with Wi-Fi 7, all drivers up to date verified by DSA.
ICPS was installed when I first got the system, but at some point DSA attempted to install an update and it failed with the above error. DSA keeps reporting an update is available, but all further attempts failed with the same error.
I subsequently uninstalled all ICPS drivers and attempted to install a fresh version of ICPS from the Intel driver site. I tried the most current version (50.25.10151.18317) and the two previous versions (40.25.9091.1711, and 40.25.7251). All failed with the same error, which is:
"An invalid condition was encountered: Error 0x80004005. The setup will now abort."
I've run Intel SSU and all appears normal (will attached if desired).
How can I reinstall this software?
BTW, I saw another thread on this board with multiple reports of the same failure as late as December 2025. The resolution described earlier in that post did not work for me, and I assume not for the people reporting later. I'm opening this new post for visibility.
