Getting license error when trying to install Killer Intelligence Center with 1675x PCIe Win10

Setting up this PC fresh, and trying to solve all the odd problems this time.  Meaning this hasn't worked for a while now for me, but I don't rely on the WiFi functionality (Ethernet just works so much better)...  just the Bluetooth for many hours a day.

But as far as I can tell I've tried a lot of combinations that should all work fine, and none let me install the Microsoft app store package.  I always get a "Missing required driver" note, with "The product couldn't be installed due to some missing dependencies. Make sure these drivers are installed: 'Rivet_Networks_LLC-KillerNetworkComponent.inf'."

I always get a happy device manager entry (no yellow ! or red X).  I ran the built-in Windows 10 repair commands (chkdsk /f, dism ..., sfc /scannow), triggered Windows Updates, searched your communities a few ways, and on google (both web searches and a few AI chats).  Yes, I enabled the free additional security patches (ESU?), and let them install/rebooted.

I tried reading each of the driver versions' download and details pages to figure out if I was doing something wrong.  At first I thought you might have removed the 1675 driver when you meant to only remove the 1650i/x (which there is a note about near the top of one of the drivers).

Eventually I saw that one of the earlier pages mapped out driver versions (with download links) to the set of hardware (products/chipsets) each supports.  Starting at the latest package, listing a bunch of newer devices...  Then another package, with a set of devices that were only updated to that version (newest that should work well).  Then another package and set of even older devices.

Yes, I've tried the claimed appropriate (1 step older from latest in the main/overall versions table) package, with the v24.40.0.4 driver.  Had to manually select the older driver since I already had that latest package installed previously (v24.50.0.4 driver that also seems to install and load on boot just fine).

Oh, and what little I tried of the built-in Windows 10 WiFi settings UI seemed to work.  But since I went to the trouble of buying the fancier version of the part from Intel, I'd appreciate if the software could be made whole/functional.

Thanks in advance.  I tried contacting Intel's support directly, but don't remember hearing back (this latest time...  I know I spoke with them a long time ago too).  Meaning I have seen this Microsoft Store package function as expected (with my device "live").

Oh, just in case...  it does have a missing antenna wire.  One of the ones that go to the external antenna sockets, outside the case.  Bluetooth works fine.  My guess was the 5GHz/6GHz antenna might be broken on it.  But that should just impact reception, right?  The device should still detect, and trigger the criteria to allow app installation...

Oh, device manager calls my PCIe portion "Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX1675w 160MHz Wireless Network Adapter (210D2W)".  Can't remember if that trailing bit was always on there (like back when I first got it, and it worked as my main WiFi uplink to our router of the time).

It's an AMD AX370 Ryzen 5 1600x system I'm trying to get it working on.  The last system where it definitely functioned was a slightly older (when I bought it at least) Intel i7-4790k on a z97 motherboard.  Sadly that motherboard won't go into the BIOS fully anymore, and I can't fully log in to Windows yet either (need to adjust BIOS settings to fix some things).

I thought I bought this particular model because it would work with any standard x86 CPU.  I know some of the similar parts only work with gen 12 or 13 parts (right? or was it gen12+?  either way, not what I have or can afford today).

Hi OneOfMany,

Thank you for the detailed explanation.

Before we proceed with troubleshooting, could you please confirm a few details?

  • Was the Killer AX1675 PCIe adapter purchased as a retail Intel adapter, or did it come pre-installed in an OEM system? This will help us determine the appropriate support path.
  • Are you installing Killer Intelligence Center directly from the Microsoft Store, or are you installing it as part of the Intel Killer Performance Suite?
  • In Device Manager > Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX1675w > Properties > Driver, what are the Driver Version and Driver Date?
  • Has Killer Intelligence Center ever worked on your current AMD X370/Ryzen system, or has the issue been present since moving the adapter to this system?

Once we have this information, we'll be in a better position to determine whether this is related to the installation method, driver detection, or adapter support, and we'll be happy to assist you further.

Best Regards,

LohithG.

Sorry, I didn't remember to look for replies until today.

1. Yes, it was purchased as a retail product.  Not as part of an OEM system purchase.  I can look up the receipt if that helps somehow.

2. Yes, after the Intel Killer driver package finishes it loads the same web browser URL for the Microsoft Store in my default browser...

https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9pcwjks4jsn1?hl=en-US&gl=US

That shows me a "Download" button, and a "View in Store" button.  I've tried installing from both places (my web browser with the download button, or in the local Microsoft Store application in my Windows 10 install.  Both cause a new entry to be added to the download page/tab.  Like when it updates/upgrades an existing package.  That "Killer Intelligence Center" package does some work for a bit, but eventually hits the error I mentioned.

3. By the version matrix/rubric online, I assumed I should be using the "24.40.0.4 [4/13/2026]" driver.  But I can select from any of this list currently (might have others I could install too if I knew what to aim for)...

23.150.0.4 [6/12/2025]

24.20.2.1 [2/12/2026]

24.30.1.1 [3/3/2026]

24.40.0.4 [4/13/2026]

24.50.0.4 [5/20/2026]

As I can recall, all load up fine with no obvious errors or weird status messages.  Just the blocking message about a missing driver that it mentions.  It'll keep trying to install that package over and over until I remove it (cancel the install/download).

4. No, I never tried the Intel Killer PCIe card in this AMD based host until recently.  I'd only used the card on one motherboard before this, and sadly I can't get it to fully boot Windows or fully enter the BIOS anymore.  And buying a used motherboard compatible with the i7-4790k + DDR3 RAM doesn't seem a good use of funds.

Thanks for your time in this matter.

Hi OneOfMany,

I hope you're doing well.

I wanted to follow up regarding the Killer AX1675 adapter issue and check whether you've had an opportunity to review the questions from my previous post.

Any additional information about the adapter's origin, the Killer Intelligence Center installation method, and the current driver details would help us better understand the behavior and determine the appropriate next steps.

If you've performed any additional testing or observed any changes since your last update, please feel free to share those findings

as well.

Thank you for your time and cooperation. I look forward to your response.

Best Regards,

I don't remember how I set up the device initially.  Sorry.  I'm guessing I downloaded the latest website packages of the time (2-3 years ago maybe?).  I did have a drive for spinning media, but I don't think I've used it for a LONG time.  And I doubt it had a USB stick.  QR code maybe?

Either way, this system I recently installed Windows 10 fresh.  Like format and install.  Then downloaded many different packages from your site, trying to get the card to work with the Intel provided software (again).  I recall this happening a while back, and contacting Intel support about it.  Eventually they seemed to just give up.  And I had no more motivation to offer them.

I'd been having odd interruptions in my network access.  Turned out to be my onboard audio device.  Tried disabling audio port detection (where you label what kind of port/device it is), but it still caused lag while streaming.  Now I've disabled the Realtek HDA in my BIOS and the periodic lagging events are gone.  I use the Bluetooth of the Killer card for audio instead (to Sony WH-1000XM3's).

If I knew how to get that inf installed, I'd be aiming that direction.  Like if I need to select a different device name manually?

"Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX1675w 160MHz Wireless Network Adapter (210D2W) Version: ..."

The card is also set to use supposedly more advanced "MSI mode" (not the older standard line based IRQ's).  As I recall I found it that way when I ran "MSI_util_v3.exe".  Figured if I don't know what will fix it, don't change it.

Hi OneOfMany,

Thank you for the detailed update and for confirming that the adapter is a retail Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 PCIe Card.

Since the wireless driver appears to install successfully and the issue is isolated to the installation of the Killer Intelligence Center, we'd like to rule out any issues with the Killer software installation.

Please perform a clean installation of the Intel Killer Performance Suite by following the steps in the article below: How to Perform a Clean Installation to Solve Most Intel Killer Performance Suite Issues

Additionally, could you please let us know the exact Intel Killer Performance Suite package you are installing? For example, the full installer filename (such as KillerPerformanceSuite_x.x.x.x_UWD_x64.exe) or the download link you used.

To help us investigate further, I will also send an email to the address associated with your community account so you can securely share a few requested logs, including an Intel System Support Utility (SSU) report, as these contain system information that is best shared privately.

We look forward to your update.

Best Regards,

[ In the process of doing all this, I've noticed the Intel page that I thought pointed me to use the slightly older than latest driver package doesn't (only).  Or said another way, it says both packages upport the device...  Just like I noticed by the drivers installing and starting without error.

Package Version Driver Version Supported Adapters and Software
"40.26.506.2332
(Latest)" 24.50.0.4 Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi ..., AX1675, ...
40.26.506.233 Intel® Killer Performance Suite Software
10.0.1.45 XTU Driver Version
40.26.403.2234 24.40.0.4 Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi ..., AX1675, ...
40.26.403.223 Intel® Killer Performance Suite Software
10.0.1.45 XTU Driver Version
...

I'd been focusing on "KillerPerformanceSuite_40.26.403.2234_UWD_x64.exe", but I also have these versions.

KillerPerformanceSuite_40.26.506.23321_UWD_x64.exe
KillerPerformanceSuite_40.26.220.2124_UWD_x64.exe
WiFi-24.50.0-Driver64-Win10-Win11.exe

I've tried installing each of them before, though I might have skipped the "WiFi" (non-Killer) version this time.  In fact I probably installed that "latest" version first, with the 24.50.0.4 version drivers.  In the past I thought the Killer package was the Microsoft store app (like an MSI) and I thought the driver was int he wifi bundle with everything else.  Now I've only been installing the Intel Bluetooth driver package + Killer Performance Suite package. ]

(notes from following the directions, before I realized the "latest" package should support my device too)

Windows (winver) Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.7548)

I used the free and popular tool, Revo Uninstaller, to monitor the uninstall process of the only "Killer Performance Driver Suite UWD" package listed in add/remove programs.  Then told Revo to scan for install package leftovers (stuff the uninstaller should have removed) in "advanced" mode (should be more thorough).  It found 3 files in a recent files list pointing to Rivet stuff (deleted manually afterwards).

Now rebooting as instructed by the Killer uninstall.  Interesting, that all the various drivers are still there (I could manually pick them to "update" my driver to, in the "have disk" list of compatible drivers).  All of the versions I'd mentioned before are all there.  The uninstaller didn't offer or ask to delete the drivers (many do).

** I can clear out all the drivers for this device if you want (the local ones, in the driver store...  I have Driver Store Explorer, that I've mostly used to look with so far).  For this test I'm going to follow the instructions you sent, and leave all the drivers still installed.  **

I opened "%temp%" as directed.  It went to "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp" (my user's "local" temp folder, vs roaming).  I was surprised the built-in Windows "Disk Cleaner" didn't offer to clear out either temp location (I also peeked in C:\Windows\Temp which had files, so I cleared it too).

Then I re-installed the Killer package version your support site says to use on this device, at...

For the "Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi ..., AX1675, ..." use the 2nd from newest version, which points me to...

I'm installing using "Complete" (I was told I could use Complete, or Custom and enable everything).  Noticed the latest package's version near the end of the filename is MUCH bigger.  Like both the first 2 numbers are higher, but it is also 10x (1 more digit).  Wonder if that broke/changed something?

"Download Killer Intelligence Center" is an option that is enabled at the end of the install process, just before it tells me to reboot next.  I let the browser page open, but I haven't tried to install the Microsoft Package yet.  In the past that was what I tried...  I did not reboot before trying to install your app.  I wondered if that might be causing issues, so this time I'll reboot first then try to install.

After booting up, I opened device manager.  Remember there was already a driver installed before I re-ran your 40.26.403.2234 package, which should have used the driver with version matching 24.40.0.4 (again from that previously mentioned Intel support page listing what package to use with which devices).  Instead the latest driver was selected, which is the 24.50.0.4 version.  In the past I manually picked the older version to see if that helped (it didn't).

(OK, going to redo some of that process with the latest package just in case that changes anything for me...  then I'll capture your support tool's snapshot)

Clearing off the system again, and installing with the 40.26.506.2332 versioned package from Intel's Support area.

In case I haven't captured it, I am always sent to here in the browser at the end...  https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9pcwjks4jsn1?hl=en-US&gl=US

No differences this time that I can see.  Still can't install the Microsoft store package, and it has the latest driver version installed (as expected).  I even tried uninstalling the device to let it redetect again.

Ran the scan of the system information that you asked for.

Is there a secure place for me to send it to you with?  Rather than posting it publicly online.
