I am having a issue using my Bluetooth headset (Sony WH-1000XM3) in
Linux. When I turn it on, the headset is immediately connected, but
after that, it is also immediately disconnected. This
connect-disconnect is automatically repeated three times with some
seconds between the occasions.
My environment is a Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 4 laptop running Xubuntu
22.04. The computer has an integrated WLAN + Bluetooth adapter based
on Intex AX201, connected on USB bus. WLAN works fine and also the
Bluetooth works when running Windows. I have read on this forum
that the driver for the chip should have been ok since kernel version
5.10. My distribution comes with 6.8 so this issue shouldn’t be about
that.
Log time ago, I managed to pair the headset and it is still listed as
a paired device. Trying to unpair it in the bluetoothctl console
results in error message saying the device doesn’t exist.
Here is what happens in bluetoothctl console when I try to connect the
headset manually:
[bluetooth]# connect 38:18:4C:D4:C2:94
Attempting to connect to 38:18:4C:D4:C2:94

I have asked about this on Ubuntu's forum, where I got no answers, and the mailing list of Bluetooth support for Linux, where I was told that they don't provide support for vendor kernels.

Hello AnttiG,
Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.
To better understand the issue, I need more details about your system. Please provide the following key information:
1) Can you confirm if these are the devices you're using: the ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 (14″ Intel) business laptop from Lenovo US and the WH-1000XM3 Bluetooth headset from Sony USA?
2) From what I gather, both WLAN and Bluetooth function properly when the system runs on Windows, and the Bluetooth headset was previously paired with this device. When did the disconnection issue with the Bluetooth headset begin?
3) Is there another Xubuntu device you could use to pair with the Sony Bluetooth headset to help isolate the issue more effectively?
Additionally, please assist us by providing your system configuration. You can do this by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for the Linux* Operating System. Please refer to the User Guide for detailed instructions.
Looking forward to your response.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Thanks for answer!
I had some issues with my post and I now noticed that I had posted the same thing twice. Both posts were answered before I noticed it, by different people, unaware of the situation.
I am answering the questions from both responses in the other thread at https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/AX201-Linux-Bluetooth-headset-disconnects-immediately/td-p/1707238 .
