Hello,
I've a T400 laptop running Win 7 64-bit Ultimate with Intel 5350 adapter with the latest OEM driver. It seems this adapter keep broadcasting DHCPInform every 30 mins.
Is there a way to stop it from doing that?
Thanks

Hello samnirmal,
Thank you for your question.
Please keep in mind that the Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350 wireless adapter has been discontinued and reached the end of it's interactive support life cycle. While we can provide some information on a best effort basis, we cannot guarantee a resolution.
A DCHPINFORM package is sent from your adapter as a request for local configuration parameters if it has obtained a network address through some other means (like a manual configuration). Since this is part of the protocol we do not have a way to stop these requests.
More information on the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP):
- https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc958940.aspx Microsoft's TechNet blog.
- http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2131.html Internet FAQ Archives (RFC 2131).
In some cases, DHCPINFORM packets may be sent when your IP's lease has reached half of it's allotted time. Modifying your network settings on your router may help, or you may need to lower your roaming settings on the PROSet.

For further support, you may need contact your http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html computer manufacturer, or https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/ Microsoft* support.
