I've had it with this card, it keeps at random intervals it will lose signal and reboot for a minute, throwing a plethora of errors in the event viewer, all the same error but with diffrent numbers and nothing online about how to fix this "The description for Event ID 6062 from source Netwaw18 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table" its always this message, but the ID changes, and it always throws like 5-7 of these with different numbers, usual suspects are 6062, 7003, 7021, 7017, 7029, 7005 and so on, its never just one of these either, its tons of them in a row, as of writing its 3:45 am, from 1:37am to now theres been 69 events logged in my viewer but lately its been the same numbers 6062, 7003 and 7021 my main specs as i will assume and guess its needed Intel Core i7-8700K Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 32GB ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F Gaming Geforce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Poseidon i see so many having issues with this and i've tried changing some of the settings in device manager as some have suggested for a fix but nothing is helping, its also updated to newest driver version which is 23.160.0.4 im at the end of my ropes here and just want to know how to fix this or if this issue is even being looked at, the card is new and as my old one broke i cant go without it, to me reading all people having this issue points all to driver issues

Hello Asudragon,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to better understand and diagnose the issue further, let me ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help me isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action moving forward.

  1. Was it working fine before?
  2. If yes, what was the last change made in the system before the issue started?
  3. Did you manually install this wireless controller on your motherboard as an upgrade?
  4. Aside from the driver, what are the other troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hello

1. No, its brand new, 2-3 weeks old and trouble since day one but wanted to figure out how to fix myself

3. Yes i installed it myself by replacing my older one

4. I have tried

Removing driver completely and trying different versions

Reseating the card

Changing tons of diverse settings that i've seen float around such as setting it to ax wireless mode, setting MIMO power saving to "No
SMPS" and basically every setting that can have

Changed in power settings that the card can not power down to save power

Setting preffered band to 2,4ghz and 5ghz only

Setting roaming agressiveness to low or medium low

Disabling Ultra High Band

and plethora of the "standard" typical troubleshooting steps seen around

Hello Asudragon,

Thank you for the update.

In upgrading the or manual installation of the wireless card, Intel has this regulation information. Please refer to the link below:

Regulatory Information Regarding Wireless Hardware Installation or...

This is to ensure that the compatibility, installation and configuration have been checked.

Have you tried contacting Asus regarding this installation?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hello again

Yes i have, as this card was purchased by a norwegian retailer who ensures compliance and compatability, i checked with them first and was told this is either driver or manufacturer issue, there was nothing they could do. They ensured that it follows regulatory requirements of all their parts and is a long standing trusted retailer (basically first of its kind back in the day and still going today).

So that all checks out.

Hello Asudragon,

Thank you for the update.

Before we proceed, I want to kindly set the expectation that you are using a 3rd party system. Our support capabilities are somewhat limited to providing drivers and other minor configuration changes.

For me to further investigate, please help provide the following details.

  1. Can you provide the photo of the wireless card and its box?
  2. Please share a screenshot of the device manager if the card is detected and if there is an error.
  3. Have you tried installing this card on a different machine/system? If yes, how was it?
  4. What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
  5. For me to review the hardware and the installed drivers. Please help generate the SSU logs of your system. Kindly refer to the link below for the steps:

How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*
