Intel BE201 Constant wi-fi disconnecting

Hi All,

Im using a Lenovo Yoga Slim7i with the Wifi 7 Intel BE201 Wifi card,

And the card looks like it keeps causing the laptop to disconnect from the wifi multiple times per day whilst the Laptop is in use, all of the basic stuff like reinstalling drivers and turning off power management setting to allow laptop to disable driver to save power ive done all that and no change.

In event viewer we were seeing under system event id 5002, but after reinstalling driver this has stopped.

But daily we are still getting event id 8003 within Microsoft-windows-WLAN-AutoConfig. Which says the WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully disconnected from a wireless network.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi @mdonnelly,

Thank you for posting here in our community. To effectively diagnose and address the issue you're experiencing, I kindly ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help us isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action.

  • Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.
  • Have you recently updated your device's operating system?
  • How far are you from the router/access point?
  • Are the router lights showing normal status (usually solid green/blue)?
  • Has anyone recently changed router settings or the WiFi password?
  • What's your internet service provider?
  • Have you tried "forgetting" and reconnecting to the network?
  • Are you able to connect via ethernet cable?
  • How many devices are typically connected to this network?
  • Are you connecting to 2.4GHz or 5GHz? (Can you see both bands?)
  • Screenshot of the event viewer error message.

I look forward to your response and am committed to resolving your issue promptly.

Best regards,

Hi Randy,

  • Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.

I will work on getting this over to you,

  • Have you recently updated your device's operating system?

This device came with Windows 11 Pro Preinstalled, and was then imaged with a Windows 11 Pro image after we received it.

  • How far are you from the router/access point?

This is happening on multiple different networks so its not just a sole router issue, its happening wherever the laptop is.

  • Are the router lights showing normal status (usually solid green/blue)?

Yes all routers working as fine

  • Has anyone recently changed router settings or the WiFi password?

No

  • What's your internet service provider?

Multiple, consistently drops off on all

  • Have you tried "forgetting" and reconnecting to the network?

Yes

  • Are you able to connect via ethernet cable?

Yes

  • How many devices are typically connected to this network?

Networks vary, some networks 10-20 devices, some networks 2-3.

  • Are you connecting to 2.4GHz or 5GHz? (Can you see both bands?)

Home is a 2.4GHz band

  • Screenshot of the event viewer error message.

This is the initial one I noticed, but after reinstalling the wifi driver this one stopped, driver was reinstalled on the 13th,
