Hello,

I upgrade to Windows 10 and I can't get my Bluetooth drivers installed. The wireless adapter is a Wireless-n 2230. I do not see any Windows 10 Bluetooth drivers for this card on intel website.

I saw this post https://communities.intel.com/thread/77850 https://communities.intel.com/thread/77850 but my adapter is not listed there

Windows update tries to download the driver but it keeps failing and it simply shown as an unknown device in device manager.

I am using a Dell Vostro 3560. I have checked dell's website but they do not have it listed there under drivers for the product.

I tried installing the windows 8.1 64bit 2230 Bluetooth drivers. It driver installs successfully but it is still shown as an unknown device in device manager.

Hardware ID: USB\VID_8087&PID_07DA\6&2D3B92E5&0&5

Thanks in advance for any assistance rendered.

Hello Ttsoldier,

The most recent Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth* technology for Windows* 10 64-bit, compatible with the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 is https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25206/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-for-Bluetooth-technology-for-Windows-10-64-bit-JP- version 18.1.1525.1445. As we understand, you were able to to install this version, and also tried other driver releases, but Bluetooth* is still not working correctly.

Considering all the actions that you tried so far, we advise you to follow the suggestions mentioned in previous posts, since there appears to be an issue specific to your computer that is preventing Bluetooth* to work in Windows* 10.

- Contact the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support, they will be able to let you know if your PC is supported with Windows* 10, or if they are aware of any condition specific to your computer.

- There may have been a problem during the Windows* installation process (since the Bluetooth* issue persists after trying different actions). You can try going back to your previous OS, remove the Bluetooth software and uninstall/delete the driver, then proceed with the OS upgrade again. You may contact the Operating System Support for further assistance about this as well.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for the response. I contacted Dell but they were unable to help. They provided responses such as:

Ensure window update is up to date. Install drivers in compatibility mode and to format the system back to factory settings.

They do not even have the driver on their support site for this adapter.

Patiently waiting...

I was able to finally get this fixed. I did a "windows reset" and chse not to keep my files, so I started over fresh.

however, the driver from intel's website was not installing. The website from Windows update is the one that installed and now my Bluetooth is working.

Strange, both os installs were clean installs. I do not know why windows update was failing before, and now it's not.

Oh well. All is well.

Thank you.

Hello Ttsoldier,

We are glad to know the issue has been resolved and now you are able to use Bluetooth* in your system. This will be very useful for other users facing this type of situation.

This looks like the problem:

The drivers refer to this: VID_8087&PID_07DC

However we need the driver for this: VID_8087&PID_07DA

Oddly enough, the driver from Microsoft Update fills this need.

Hi,

My Bluetooth device doesn't appears in the device manager. I followed all your guidelines and tried to install the last driver version 18.1.1525.1445. I didn't receive any error message after the install process, but the device shows and holds the driver version 15.16.0.2 of windows. The problem persists and I made an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 Pro and to fresh installations to try to fix the problem. I don't know how, but the Bluetooth device was active during a time, but after a restart the device and the Bluetooth button in Windows 10 disappears. I hope somebody can help me or have some idea to fix it. I don't want to set up the system more times.

Thanks in advance

Update:

Yesterday inside my device manager the Bluetooth device appears after 5 minutes from the starting of my laptop. I don't know how or why the device appears. The driver version was 18.1.1525.1445 from Intel. I unchecked the option that windows can switch off the device for power saving, but after a restart the device is again missing in the device manager. Today my system was in hibernate mode and after resuming the Bluetooth device appears in the device manager and was working normally. After an restart, the device was again missing.

Hello,

Please make sure you apply the actions mentioned by other users in this thread, which include doing a clean install of the OS, using updated wireless and Bluetooth* drivers, try Windows® inbox drivers and OEM drivers, as well as the generic version from Intel. You may also try disabling Windows power management features the Bluetooth® adapter, or also disable fast boot technology in your Motherboard's BIOS.

If the issue persists at this point, we would advise you to contact the http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/oems.html Computer Manufacturer Support, so they can confirm if your PC is supported with Windows® 10 and if they can provide additional recommendations for it to work properly in this configuration.
