Intel Drivers Question.

I have successfully updated these drivers many times recently and I'm still getting the same  update messages, weekly.

I have had the same constant issue with Brother Printer Drivers.

I'm running a new computer (Sept 2025), with Windows 11 Home, with automatic updates running.

I'm getting annoyed that this is happening all the time and want to know why it's happening.  I install all updates to the System & Printer.

Hi Steve1955,

Thank you for sharing the screenshots, I appreciate you taking the time to provide those details.

Upon review, I can confirm that you are using the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to update your Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth drivers. Based on the information shown, I did not observe the tool repeatedly recommending the exact same driver versions for installation.

Please note that driver updates are released periodically to address bugs, improve compatibility, and enhance overall system stability. These updates may appear frequently as new versions become available.

I understand that this may feel annoying, especially since the driver updates seem to come up frequently. If you prefer not to receive these update notifications, you can adjust the settings by following the steps below or you can just click on the driver update you don’t want and check the box for “Hide just this update.

1. Launch Intel® Driver & Support Assistant

2. Go to Settings

3. Locate the Notifications section

4. Set notifications to Never

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Best regards

Hello Steve1955,

Greetings from Intel Customer Support.

I understand how inconvenient it must be to receive the same update notifications repeatedly, especially when you've successfully installed the drivers multiple times. Based on your description, this appears to be related to how Windows 11 is managing driver updates rather than an issue with the Intel drivers themselves.

This issue typically occurs when Windows Update doesn't properly recognize that newer or equivalent drivers are already installed, often due to different driver sources (OEM vs. generic) or Windows Update database inconsistencies.

You can consider adjusting your Windows Update settings to prevent automatic driver installations that might conflict with manually installed drivers.

To investigate further, kindly share the additional information below.

1. What is the current Wi-Fi and Bluetooth driver?

  • Open Device Manager → Bluetooth → Right-click your device → Properties → Driver tab
  • Open Device Manager → Network adapters → Right-click your Intel adapter → Properties → Driver tab

2. What is the complete model of your Wireless card?

3. Did the issue started after a specific Windows update or system change?

4. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

5. Is Windows Update trying to install a different driver version than what's currently installed?

I look forward to your response.

Best regards

Hi Jed G.

Thanks for your ongoing help with this issue.  I worry about frequent update notifications a bit just in case it's someone trying to gain access through a back door.  I didn't think Intel would do as many updates so often.

But I will do as you have suggested and move forward.

Best Regards
Steve
