Intel Drivers

Windows 10 Pro clean new install. Group and local policies have been enabled for no updates to be installed. Intel graphics and wireless drivers are downloaded and installed against system policy. Intel Command Center and other applications follow shortly after. Does intel have higher authority than Administrator to ignore system policy? Also how is this implemented and achieved on a closed private network.

Is there a proxy established to provide this service?

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- ) for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.

Hi, Kruption76.

Thank you for posting in our Community and providing detailed information about your setup and concerns. Knowing your Operating systems is a good start, but I could still use more information about your system configuration. Please run the Intel SSU report and share the results with me so I can verify details such as OS build, driver version, errors logged at system level, etc

Have a nice day!

Hello, Kruption76.

Thank you for your patience in this matter. Based on my analysis, Intel driver updates do not override group policy unless there is a conflict with system-level policies. Looking at the photo you provided, the Bluetooth driver you found is older than our latest version, 23.100.1. It’s possible that you are dealing with inbox drivers, which are preinstalled on your system and cannot be uninstalled (you won’t see the “Delete the driver software for this device” option). These drivers are typically provided by laptop, AIO, or prebuilt system manufacturers to ensure proper system functionality. This could explain why the driver appeared to update without technically violating the group policy set by your system administrator.

Regarding your post about changing time zones, please check your community portal profile settings to confirm that it is set to the correct region.

For the driver issue, I recommend consulting the device manufacturer to determine if any inbox drivers are required for your system. Additionally, it may be helpful to contact Microsoft Support to better understand how group policy interacts with inbox drivers and whether there is a special policy to prevent their installation.

Furthermore, I will now be closing this inquiry. If you need further assistance, please submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.
