We suggest checking with your system manufacturer since the latest drivers should be available through their website.

Please look at past Driver updates Intel has always issued these versions.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24217 Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7*Recommended for end-customers. Includes download options for driver-only and driver-with Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software.
AND
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24216 Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and drivers for IT administratorsRecommended for IT administrators. Includes driver-only and Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software distribution packages\
Now if you look at drive version 17.13.2 all Intel has released is the IT administrators version. They do not have the End-Customers version. I would like to know why the End-Customers version has not been released? Please admit that The End-Customers version was not loaded on the server yet for download. And please admit that this will be fixed shortly. My card is a after market install so I rely on Intel to release the drivers for the card. And since Intel is the maker of the Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. This makes them the ultimate authority of the drivers for this card.

Rob, you can install those drivers on top of what you're already using. The end user package simply includes installers for ProSet and the driver files. You don't get anything different regarding the actual driver files which provide the functionality of the card.
For my use, I only use the Admin sets, because I don't use ProSet and don't want to run an installer. It's a simple matter of unzipping the file to a folder on the PC, clicking on Update Driver in Device Manager, and then browsing to the saved folder where the drivers are. You really don't need anything else to make the card work.
If you have ProSet installed and want to keep using it, you can do the same thing as above. The driver will update, but you'll keep everything else as it was.
Another option: those ProSet Wireless exe files are just self-extracting archives. You can open them up with winzip or 7zip and see that the same driver folder is there, packed in with all the installer and setup stuff. You can install the driver that way, too, without ever running the setup.exe.

Hello Rob99999_2
Thank you for your inquiry. The best option available right now would be to check with the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for the latest drivers as they will release it through their websites.

As I said in my post before this is an after purchase modification. That means that the OEM of this card is Intel because they are the manufacturer of the card.

Hello rob99999_2,
The end-user version will be released soon but please keep in mind that for the time being, you must get it from your system manufacturer and not from Intel directly.
Please keep in mind that Wireless hardware installation and use is subject to regulatory approval, and the adapter purchased may not support your local regulations. Only your system manufacturer is entitled to provide the list of validated and certified adapters that are compatible with your system. So for more information you may need to check with them directly. Furthermore, Intel® wireless adapters for laptops are meant to be professionally installed by Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technicians on certified systems only.
I suggest that you review the articles available here for further information:

Asouza75,
Please keep in mind that intel Wireless adapters can be purchased off Newegg.com. This means that anyone can purchase this product and install in themselves. Farther more my laptop did not come with This adapter in it. I have an HP laptop and they always want to use cheap wireless adapters in there products to keep the cost down. I purchased this card because of the environment that I use my laptop in. I am a college student and the school that I go to has the 2.4Ghz range throttled back because of band the number of channel are limited. My school has true 802.11N speeds in the 5Ghz range. HP does not install 802.11ABGN they do this to keep the prices low. my school also is projected to transfer over to the 802.11AC standard in the near future. I purchased and installed this card so I can get the maximum use out of the schools Wi-Fi and in high traffic areas the 2.4Ghz range is so slow it is almost pointless to use the Wi-Fi. I also got it because of the conversion to 802.11AC I will still have maximum use of the Wi-Fi. My laptop just feel out of warranty as of September. So I can means I can do anything I want to this laptop now because that means HP has stop supporting it. I have had this Wireless Adapter in my laptop for almost a year now and have had very little problems with it. The only thing I ask if that when Intel releases drivers they release the end users version and the IT Professional version on the same time.

Unfortunately we do not have a release date for the version you are looking for. However, we would like to let you know that installing or upgrading the various Intel wireless adapters by end users is not supported by Intel. Replacing an adapter associated with specific wireless software with a different type of adapter may cause your adapter to have issues connecting or give software error messages. For example, if you replace a Wi-Fi/WiMAX adapter with a Wi-Fi-only adapter, you may receive WiMAX error messages and will no longer be able to connect to the WiMAX network. The reason we are telling you this is because we want you to enjoy our product with everything it can offer. Please consider that the manufacturer of you computer may not have designed the system in your computer to work with this adapter you installed as it has to obey regulatory requirements. That is one of the reasons Intel does sell these adapters directly to end users.
