Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz stops working randomly

Hello,

I have been facing issues with my Wi-Fi connections for some time now. I have tried the clean installations, have the latest wireless and Bluetooth drivers and tried quite a few tutorials. However, the problem keeps persisting.

Issue:

The wireless stops working randomly and the wireless button disappears.

On checking the Device Manager:

Further double clicking shows This device cannot start (Code 10).

Checking the Properties > Events it shows Device not started (Netwtw10)

A few things for added context:

  • The wi-fi was working fine and suddenly started to glitch.
  • I could not find a patter associated with the glitch (e.g., windows update, or simultaneous Bluetooth connection etc)
  • I think my laptop (MSI Creator 15M) comes with a pre-installed driver.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Best,

C

Hi, Viro247.

Thank you for posting in our Community. I noticed that there is an error code 10 on the device manager under the General tab of Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and I also saw that you already tried to perform clean installations and have the latest wireless and Bluetooth drivers but the issue persisted. Usually, a Code 10/43 error is a temporary error, generated when Device Manager can't start the hardware device. However, this error is considered a generic message indicating an unspecified problem. As such, the next step that we can take to fix the issue is to restore the system. If the wireless network problem happened recently, and if you have ever created a restore point or there is an automatic system restore existed, try to restore the computer to a point before the problem began. I would like to share this article/link: (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000031150/wireless/wireless-software.html), where you can find the troubleshooting steps when dealing with code 10 errors in Device Manager for Wireless and Bluetooth devices.
