Unfortunately, The Intel® WiFi Link 5100 is not supported by Microsoft Windows® 10. Software and drivers are not available for this adapter-OS combination.

In that case, OP will have to upgrade or replace the Intel wifi 5100 adapter with a newer model when upgrading to Windows 10.
I know for sure Windows 8 & 8.1 had built-in (in-box) drivers for Intel WiFi 5100 & 5300 adapters though I'm not sure if Windows 10 has in-box drivers for those old wifi adapters.
I would like to remind you that we recommend to contact the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support before upgrading an Intel adapter with a different model adapter. They will be able to determine if the product is approved for use in a specific system. Using an unsupported adapter may cause installation errors, or connectivity issues.

This Is the current driver in my Windows 10 Pro bought RC version which works fine, was also supported in the Beta versions as well. But will Intel supply a new version? and is possible you can provide zip versions as *.exe are blocked by many companies so unable to update even via you own update tool 2.0 Many Thanks Iain
I have an i74500 computer running windows 10 and this driver works. After updating all my drivers with DriverAsist software, the wifi would not connect to the transport driver (PROset wireless manual diagnostics). Device manager showed all was fine. Solution: I noted that the HD audio was sharing resources with the 5100 AGN. I uninstalled both the WiFi 5100 AGN driver and the HD audio driver. Don't forget to select the check box to remove the drivers! All is fine again. Lesson: If it works, don't fix It. Unless you love to solve electronic mysteries.
